The United Nations Statistical Commission is responsible for the development and coordination of statistical services within the UN organization and serves as an advisory body to the Secretariat and the UN agencies.
A subunit of the Commission is the United Nations Statistics Division, which collects and disseminates statistical information and publishes statistical data updates, reports and papers.

Documents in print for the period 1946-1992 are included in the UN collection of the Dag Hammarskjöld Library, Uppsala, and in the libraries at UN Headquarters in New York and Geneva.
The Statistical Commission submits an annual report to the ECOSOC in the documentary series Supplements to the Official Records of the Economic and Social Council. A complete collection of these supplements in print will be found in the UN Collection of the Dag Hammarskjöld Library, Uppsala, and in the libraries at UN Headquarters in New York and Geneva.

Documents are published electronically from 1993- in the United Nations Document System - ODS.
References to documents with links to full texts for recent years can be retrieved through the UNBISnet - the online catalogue of the UN Libraries in New York and Geneva.
UNSDB - United Nations Common Database provides selected series of statistics from numerous international statistical data sources. A password is required in the Dag Hammarskjöld Library, Uppsala, and in the UN Libraries and specialized libraries.
COMTRADE - the United Nations commodity trade database- provides trade data from 1982 onwards.
It can be accessed with a special password in the Dag Hammarskjöld Library, Uppsala, and in the UN libraries and specialized libraries.
