UNDP - United Nations Development Programme plays a key role in the United Nations development cooperation. Unlike other operational UN bodies in this field it is not subject to any specific substantive or sectoral restrictions. It is the largest UN development assistance program with resident representatives in over 125 developing countries.
UNDP coordinates and monitors development and progress towards the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) adopted by world leaders ath the Millennium Summit 2000. The the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) is a global action plan to achieve eight anti-poverty goals by the year 2015.
